Every body is different—& not every piercing works for every anatomy. Before we pierce you, we’ll evaluate the area, discuss placement, and make sure your anatomy can safely support the piercing and appropriate jewelry. If we don’t think a piercing is a good fit for you, we’ll tell you & help you explore other options. Your safety & long-term healing is our top priority! ### Why does jewelry quality matter? The jewelry going into a fresh piercing matters just as much as the piercing itself. We carefully select our jewelry with quality, biocompatibility, proper fit, & long-term wear in mind. We use high-quality body jewelry appropriate for piercing, including implant-grade titanium, & solid gold options. No surgical steel or low grade mystery metals here! We don’t believe your fresh piercing is the place to cut corners. ### Do you use piercing guns? Never. We perform piercings using professional piercing needles and proper sterile techniques. Piercing guns can cause unnecessary tissue trauma, may present sterilization concerns, & use jewelry that isn’t appropriately designed or fitted for many fresh piercings. ### What is involved in getting professionally pierced? It starts before the needle ever comes out. We’ll talk about the piercing you want, evaluate your anatomy, determine placement, select appropriately sized jewelry, and answer your questions. Your piercing is then performed using professional piercing techniques and sterile equipment. Before you leave, we’ll go over aftercare, healing expectations, downsizing when applicable, and what to watch for while your piercing heals. And we’re still here after you leave—healing is part of the process. ### How should I care for my new piercing? Keep it simple. We recommend sterile saline wound wash & otherwise leaving your piercing alone while it heals. Don’t twist, spin, or rotate your jewelry. Avoid harsh chemicals and unnecessary products, and keep makeup, lotions, sprays, and other personal-care products away from the piercing while it’s healing. No rushed decisions. ### What do I need to bring to get a piercing? If you’re 18 or older, please bring a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license or passport. If you’re under 18, a parent must be present with their valid photo ID, & we require the minor’s birth certificate to verify parent/child relationship. Please make sure you have the required documents before you come in—we cannot perform the piercing without proper identification and consent. A little paperwork first.
